Consumption of bottled water has increased its market year after year. ISTAT, the National Institute of Statistics of Italy, confirms that in 63%
of families in Italy, at least one member drinks more than a liter of mineral water daily.
In Europe, the consumption of bottled water has an average of 117 liters per capita and Italy ranks first with 182 liters. Around the world, quite high consumption is the one of U.S. of about 159 liters but the first position is owned by Mexico that can boast a record of 254 liters.
This high consumption that continues to increase is attributable to the need for drinking water in some areas of course, but why can we find a great consumption in others where the tap water is of good quality?
The society is now accustomed to advertising on TV, boards, Web of different brands of mineral water, with different messages. There are waters that make you lose weight, waters that help reduce sodium consumption, waters that stimulate diuresis, and so on.
Actually is very common that the water that arrives in our homes is strictly controlled and in many countries it is also possible to see the chemical analyses carried out on the waters that feed your area.
The analysis are done and controlled by different specialized agencies that have the task of checking that the chemical and biological composition respects the limits by law, which are usually more stringent for tap water than for bottled ones.

Be wise! Check the water you drink, buy your personal water bottle and don’t waste plastic!
